Marconi Express announces that, for technical and safety reasons, on Monday 15 December from 5.40 a.m., the monorail service will be suspended to allow a vehicle to be removed from the line for a general overhaul. A substitute shuttle bus service will be operated with the following departure points:
- at the airport on the ground floor at the arrivals exit;
- at Lazzaretto station in Via Terracini;
- at the central station in Via Carracci.
Transfers take approximately 25 minutes, with an intermediate stop at Lazzaretto station. The cost and method of purchasing tickets for the shuttle bus service are the same as for the monorail service.
The monorail service will resume operations as soon as the work is completed, which is expected to be within the day.
General servicing is mandatory for all public transport vehicles and is essential to ensure the technical efficiency and safety of the vehicle over time. After being taken out of service, the vehicle will be transported to a specialised workshop, where it will undergo a complete inspection of all structural, mechanical, electrical and electronic components.
The entire cycle of overhauls of the three vehicles will be completed in 2026, thus ensuring the full efficiency of the system and maintaining service quality standards.
